It was a very good day for Australian Batsmen as they managed to extend their score upto 534 runs for just 5 wickets before they decided to declare.
Unfortunately Joe Burns missed his double century as he was dismissed by Kasun Rajitha for 180 runs.
But Kurtis Patterson managed to get his maiden century as he scored unbeaten 114 runs.
In reply Sri Lanka got to a very good start before Dimuth Karunarathne was hit by a bouncer and had to get retired.
Taking the oppurtunity Australian bowlers managed to make inroads into Lankan batting order as they were able to take 3 wickets for 126 runs at the end of the day.
Sri Lanka still trail by 411 runs Batsmen at the middle for Sri Lanka now are Kusal Perera who is on 11 and Dhananjaya De Silva who is on 1.
