Very Good Afternoon to everyone around the world who are with us to enjoy the 1 st Test between Sri Lanka and Australia.
It is a very good day for cricket at the Gabba stadium here at Brisbane and Lankans who won the toss decided to bat first rather surprisingly in a stadium which is normally known to assist Seamers in the 1 st session of the match.
But Sri Lankan openers managed to stay away from early danger as they have now scored 26 runs without loosing a wicket after 8 overs.
Pitch does look like it has a good support for seamers and if Lankans can manage to be cautious in the 1 st hour of the match it will start looking more easier to bat on.
Sri Lanka has made a new change in the opening combination as they have opted Lahiru Thirimanne at the top and currently he is on 12 while his senior partner Karunarathne is on 11.
Average 1 st inning score here at Gabba is 342 runs but anything between 250 to 300 will be a good score according to the pitch as we reckon to put some pressure on Australia who lost a series to India recently.
