2 nd Test Sri Lanka vs New Zealand:4 th day analysis


Similar to the 1 st Test  many people expected that this Test match could be over by 4 th day assuming based on the situation at the end of 3rd day.

But Century Partnership from Kusal Mendis and Dinesh Chandimal helped Lankans to take it to the 5 th day by loosing only 6 wickets.

Sri Lanka was going well until the injury of Angelo Mathews .But the injury to the former Sri Lankan captain who was unbeaten in last 2 innings gave an oppurtunity to get an opening and with that New Zealand managed to take 4 wickets in the day.

Sri Lanka need further 429 runs to win with 4 wickets in hand.

New Zealand bowlers bowled pretty well although wickets were hard to come by .

Neil Wagner is the highest wicket taker as per now in the 2 nd inning as he has taken 3 wickets for 47 runs.

Batsmen at the middle for Lankans are Dilruwan Perera on 22 and Suranga Lakmal on 16.

New Zealand is having the upper hand surely in this match.But still a draw is possible here if Anjelo Mathews can return to the crease.

Talking about Weather Forecast in Christchurch for tommorow it is not expected to have showers but will be partly cloudy.
