However New Zealand managed to get a very healthy 1 st inning lead of 296 runs over Sri Lanka and has taken the game on to their side.
Tom Latham finished not out on 264 and Lahiru Kumara was able to take 4 wickets for Sri Lanka.
With 2 more days left in the game Sri Lanka will have to bat really well without gifting their wickets to loose delieveries as they did in 1 st inning and will have to build on some respectability to their score board.
Openers will have very big responsibility to build some confidence in the rest of the batsmen to come up by staying their atleast 10 to 20 overs like New Zealand top order did.
