It was a very good day for New Zealand as they were able to get the game onto their side with very good performances from batting side and as well as in bowling side.
In reply to the Sri Lanka's score of 282 in first inning,New Zealand managed to get 578 runs before they were bowled out.
Lead of 296 looked huge in these conditions and Sri Lanka made it more worse by loosing 3 early wickets at the end of the day for just 20 runs.
Sri Lanka will have a huge task on them tommorow to add some respectability to the score board and should try to give considerable chase to New Zealand.
4th inning average is lower as 141 here and it won't be easy to chase if Lankan's can get a lead around 150 to 200 atleast .
For that they will have to bat really well with only 4 specialist batsmen to bat.
Match summary after 3 rd day is as follows:
SRI LANKA(1st inning) 282-10(90 overs)
Angelo Mathews 83 Tim Southee 6-68
NEW ZEALAND (1st inning) 578-10(157.3overs)
Tom Latham 264* L.kumara 4-127
SRI LANKA(2 nd inning) 20-3(20 overs)
D.Karunaratne 10 Tim Southee 2-7
Sri Lanka trail by 276 runs
